Mr. Hack received his preparatory education at Ohio
University (B.S. 1979) where he received a degree in
Communications. From there, he attended the University of
Toledo School of Law, graduating in 1983. From 1983 to 1987
he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of
Ohio where he received a Certificate of Distinguished
Service from the Ohio Attorney General. As an Assistant
Attorney General he litigated numerous matters before
Administrative Agencies, State Courts of General
Jurisdiction as well as the Ohio Court of Appeals and
Supreme Court.
In 1987, Mr. Hack moved to
San Diego and worked as an associate with Dyer & Walton
until 1991 when he became a shareholder and the firm was
renamed Walton, Ottesen, Meads, Koler & Hack. In 1992, Mr.
Hack accepted an offer to head the litigation section of
Heggeness & Sweet, a local defense firm attempting to expand
into the civil defense area. In October of 1995, Mr. Hack
chose to follow his entrepreneurial spirit and start his own
firm with Julie E. Shaw and Brian T. Hackley, attorneys he
had known and worked with for over ten years.
Mr. Hack has extensive
experience in civil litigation and has handled the defense
of professional malpractice claims, insurance coverage
disputes, construction defect actions, maritime personal
injury claims, personal injury and business litigation. He
has also prosecuted plaintiff’s actions on behalf of
individuals and businesses. He is a member of the San Diego
Defense Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association,
the San Diego Bar Association and a Master in the American
Inns of Court. He is an approved Arbitrator for the San
Diego County Superior Courts.
