Mr. Hackley completed his
preparatory education at Occidental College in Los Angeles
(B.A. 1985), where he received a degree in economics. He
received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego
School of Law in 1991. Mr. Hackley served on the USD
Appellate Moot Court Board and was the recipient of the
Order of the Barristers Award. He was selected to represent
USD in the 1989-90 Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot
Court Competition. Mr. Hackley began working with
Mr. Hack as a law clerk at Dyer & Walton during law school,
and thereafter as a litigation associate in 1991. In 1993,
Mr. Hackley joined Mr. Hack in establishing a litigation
department at Heggeness & Sweet.
Mr. Hackley's practice
emphasizes general civil litigation in representing
plaintiffs and defendants, as well as handling Federal and
State Court appeals. He has considerable experience in
defendant and plaintiff’s personal injury actions as well as
handling major subrogation cases on behalf of insurance
carriers and self-insured employers. He is licensed to
practice in California and is a member of the California Bar
Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego
Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.
